Wedding Money Saving Tips – Save Money with Low Cost Centrepieces

Low Cost Centrepieces that look Great!

Though the desire to get married hasnít changed, the way in which people go about it has – especially with the current economic climate.  Individuals are more interested than ever in cutting costs when and wherever they can.

Centrepieces don’t have to bust your budget!

Wedding Planning Ideas Money Saving Tips

It is possible to create or buy gorgeous centrepieces that don’t cost a fortune. Rather than solely depending on expensive floral arrangements to decorate tables, individuals looking to cut costs should consider the use of other materials.

Here are 5 ideas to get you started – I’ll keep adding more as the weeks go by….

1. Paper Flower Centrepieces: I know, at first though, the idea of paper flower centerpieces must sound quite odd and frugal to the extreme. It’s fine for something to be cheap as long as it doesn’t look it. Don’t worry. Quality, paper flowers will look very elegant when done correctly. You can create die cut flowers from paper for a wonderful, crafty effect. A person can purchase the pattern and assemble the flowers themselves or purchase them already assembled.

2. Use The Wedding Favours as Centrepieces: Beautifully arranged wedding favours can do double duty as centerpieces. Adding a few candles with the favours is an easy way for the happy couple to decorate their tables and show their appreciation to their guests for coming at the same time. No additional expense required.

3. Orchid plants: Orchids are quite beautiful and the plants make for great centrepieces. Aside from looking great, they are also inexpensive and make a great give-away to special guests (or a fun game for your guests to play… more on that later..)

4. Pillar Candles: Pillar candles in different sizes, grouped in the center of the table, tied together with ribbon, work great as centerpieces. They look good and are a perfect option for those on a budget. Candles can be purchased for very little money and are available in a variety of colors, sizes and scents. Check out local crafts store, and online auctions.  It’s a good idea to determine the burn time of whatever candles a person decides to purchase, to avoid the candles melting during the reception. Consider adding greenery or pinecones to give the centrepieces an even richer, fuller look.

5. Use Food: Really! – This is becoming more popular these days, and when done correctly, makes for an elegant centrepiece. Create a cluster of fruits and/or vegetables and use as centrepieces. Apples, pineapples, star fruit, lemons and pears, make terrific looking centrepieces. Food centrepieces are much cheaper than floral arrangements.
Using ones imagination and thinking outside the box are great ways to come up with centrepieces that are not only inexpensive but attractive.

Remember, just because something is good value for money – it doesn’t have to LOOK cheap 🙂
